Our goal at PBC is to fulfill the Great Commission by becoming a "sending" church, a church that supports believers who are committed to spreading the gospel through the love of Jesus Christ. It is not a program that throws money at unseen missionaries and projects; it is a program that involves our children, our youth, our adult members, and our seniors. It is not about observing and contributing. It is about acting and serving. Missions includes praying, encouraging, and providing financial support to those called to full-time evangelism and service. It is encouraging believers within our church to consider missions as a career; it is preparing them for that career; and it is building relationships between our members and our missionaries.

SHORT-TERM TEAMS- PBC believers going to foreign lands, living in a very different culture, working with non-English speaking peoples, and sometimes experiencing a degree of discomfort is a step of faith. Working closely with other believers for several weeks is a special bonding experience as is witnessing Christians of different cultures and languages serving in remote regions. Participants are humbled by the contrast in living standards, by the joy these people have, and by strength of their relationships with each other. And finally, team members experience a period of time in which they can depend on the Lord and focus on why He has them there. Each year, PBC sends out teams to places like Guatemala, Zambia, Haiti, China, Kentucky, and Romania and each year, team members return knowing "How plentiful is the harvest."

CAREER MISSIONARIES- PBC's 18 Career Missionaries are an important element of the program. They are role models for PBC members and they are mentors to our Interns. Our role as a church is more than providing financial support to missionaries and projects. Support includes prayer for those who are serving, it is being aware of their needs, and it is communication within the Church and with those who serve.

MISSIONARY INTERN PROGRAM- For PBC to become a church that raises up from its body believers called to the mission's field, there needs to be a means of preparing, encouraging, and assisting members willing to take that step. The MIP is a custom-definted mentoring program that prepares participants for full-time missionary service.

ANNUAL MISSIONS CONFERENCE- The purpose of the Conference is to provide one-on-one contact between PBC's Career Missionaries and the membership. It is a time of encouragement and fellowship and determining needs. It is a time of collectively sharing the work of our misisonaries to better inform the membership on how their mission dollars are being spent.

He told his disciples,
"I have been given all authority in heaven and earth. Therefore go and make disciples in all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and then teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you; and be sure of this - that I am with you always, even to the end of the world."
